The Greater Path

by LitxUpxWithxLife   Apr 12, 2008

The bright whit lights surround,
My hallowed shape that was lost but not found.
The buildings around me stretch so tall.
Yet all I can think is of the fall.
I walk to the ledge,
And notice the building sides wedge.
I take a step over the side,
And realize my life has been one crazy ride.

My body shakes and starts to rock,
and it's all because of that one jock.
He hit, and kicked, and bullied me.
Why did he not leave me be?
Now I fall from this giant height,
On this dark and dreadful night.
I took my life and plunged from the tops.
All I have to say is I am sorry pops.

I hit the bottom but do not feel pain,
Instead I feel a euphoric dancing in the rain.
The bright light above hypnotizes me.
The light we all wish to see.
When we all die, and when we all leave.
The light we all pray to and believe.
He said to me "Go now my son."
"Your time on this world is not yet done."

He left and gave me a second chance at life.
Now the blood shines and stains the knife.
But God has shown me a greater path,
So I sit in this room with my friends and laugh.
Not to cry or be depressed,
To me life was once a jest.
Now I see there is a meaning to it,
Now I will never give up or quit.
