Tough grout

by Iola   Apr 14, 2008

You may think that I am tough inside
Covered in skin that is thicker than leather
Fail to see beyond my pride
Unaware of my roaring weather

Admire my enduring inclination
As if bestowed onto my lap one day
Finding my resilience a fine inspiration
Not realizing what I had to give away

Hurting deeply by my ice cold stare
Dreadfully disabled by my dried-up tears
Thinking a shield means I just do not care
Whilst I am just discarding each of my fears

You may think my thick skull cannot break
Wonder about a heart turned into rock
Loosing my heart puts my dreams at steak
And for that I will put your head on a block

Seeing the peek of an iceberg that's me
Perceiving my outside as the same that's within
Don't be deceived by what eyes only see
You will be surprised at the joy snow can bring
