Your Breath

by Crystal   Apr 16, 2008

I was on my bed
in the warm sunshine that filtered
through my open window.

You were in my ear,
laughter echoing in my thoughts
and filling my empty room.

Bare and dark corners,
illuminated by your bright warmth
and my glowing joy.

Plain white walls suddenly
awash in soft hues of December sky
and airy mint.

Music in guise of a giggle
danced chords of half and whole notes,
my heart tapping the rhythm.

The movement is dizzying.
The sounds and colors overwhelming my senses
and the light blinding.

So I close my eyes
and pull the blankets over my head
and listen to you breathe.
