My Favourite Angel (dedicated to my aunty)

There is an old saying
God only takes the best
That we have to lose the one we love
To finally pass our test

A year ago I lost my aunt
And it broke my families heart
It to hard to deal with
And its tearing us apart

Almost every night
I hear my mother cry
And I just don't understand
Why she had to die

Those long drives we used to have
Seem so far away
The times at the beach
Seem a distant day

My aunt was the kind of person
You would always want around
The person who would lift you up
When your life was falling down

And now that she is gone
Our lives are falling down
But no one is there
To pick us up from off the ground

I would give anything
For just one more day
To see my favorite angel
That was taken away

Until that day comes
I will sit and pray
That god will keep her safe and warm
While she is away

I guess that old saying is true
God gave us that test
He needed one more angel
He had to take the best
