My heart is not a dance floor

While I sit here,
I am watching everyone dance.
As he walks up to me and say,
Would you care to dance?
I get this funny feeling deep inside.
As I take his hand,
I swing to the left.
He swings to the right.
And I just cry out in pain on that oh so
painful night.
I've been hurt way to many times.
No longer can I get close,
I'm sorry but ...
My heart is not a dance floor.

    Wow I love the title to this..When I heard it I had to leave a comment...I love the poem it was great and I really liked the name of your poem...I know how it feels and it's like people don't even watch what they do to the floor they dance around it and have fun and leave marks upon it. Kinda like the people you think love you..they dance on your heart and each step seems to sink in deeper and deeper until inevitably they break the already broken....I love it..:-) 5/5
