You Are My Survivor

You Are My Survivor

I remember it snowing
Where you lived that day
I still imagine you running
Your heart beating away

They said that someone had been driving way to fast
I remember thinking
Oh it's okay
Hes only in the hospital
It wont last

Imagine my shock when they said
You hadn't broken a leg...

That night I dreamed of lizard claws on my back
That time in the garage when you put Luther back
Your voice full of sarcasm and humor
Your laugh full of joy
Just like a little boy...

But when I woke
I remembered

That is when the bitter tears came
An ocean cried unashamed

...Another night
...Another nightmare...

Your body laying in snow
White and blue
Broken and cold

In a frozen puddle of
Blood
Your blood
My blood

And on my left arm is a scar
From a broken piece of glass from the broken car
The car that took you away
To a better place

................................

Its a reoccurring nightmare and dream
It changed me in more ways than it would seem
I wait forever for the day
When I will be whisked away
To you

To hear your voice again
To see your face again

For now
All I have left to say
Is I love you
In your own special way
In my heart you¢ï¿½ï¿½ll always be
Through thunder
Lightning
Rain
Through ice
Desperation
And pain

And when my longing for you is to much for me
I reach for the knife
But then I remember that you would want me to stay alive

You are my guardian angel
You are my survivor...

RIP Jerry, I love you
