The Perfect Lie

by BJ Miller   Apr 20, 2008

The Perfect Lie
Is hearing her say
I love you
Recording and echoing it back to you
Over and over
When you know she truly does not care
And you can feel
Every.
Single.
Word.
Strike your heart
Like a thousand, billion sharp objects.
And my soul can only sing requiems for my heart.
My busted, bruised, shattered, mutilated, riven, ruptured heart.

Hey i liked this poem. It was really short and meaningful. But i couldnt read this part

    I love you
Recording and echoing it back to you
    Over and over
    When you know she doesnt,

maybe you can try rewriting it.
