Unopened jar of jam

by Iola   Apr 22, 2008

In the kitchen high on a tray
Stands a unopened jar with jam
Partially visible but hidden away
Forever waiting for another big scam

Its ingredients always to tempting to some
The lid tightly sealing a potent content
She warned him not to peek into this one
But the rules he had to go and bend

He broke the seal with canning laughter
Peeking inside with a grin on his face
Hoping to taste the seed of ever after
Getting addicted to the very sweet taste

But inside the jar lies more just jam
Its darkened recipe gives birth to more
He thought it is nothing and then felt it BAM
As each taste made his heart very sore

Jealousy, possession, love and hate,
All part of the jar that should be closed
Stalking, knowing, waking up too late
Falling in a jar of jam once exposed

Putting back the lid and return it to the dark
Where it stands in peace when never tasted
But certain jams leave its inevitable mark
It may cause a beautiful mind to become wasted

Final warning, do not open that lid
Don't allow your heart to fall for this jelly
Some turn into vampires once they are bit
And then their heart and soul becomes very silly
