Ying and Yang

by Brad Quammen   Apr 23, 2008

When you smile,
you smile for me as well
When you cry,
a tear falls for me as well
You are like nothing I have ever experienced
in this life I live
Though your so far away,
you are close to me
too far to hug,
but close enough to comfort
you are like the day,
like the sunrise,you radiate with
everything thats special
everything thats true beauty,
you are...

I am like a tumor of existence
I grow not for the benefit of man,
but as a reminder of what is truly sad
I don't deserve your kindness,
let alone your time, yet time is all I have
I use what time I have to ponder about why I care...
still I do not know...but I have an idea,
You inspire me..

Alone I shall remain in my own self pity
for such is my destiny, but you...
you have the light of possibility,
shining brightly throughout your soul,
you can do anything,
while I accept that which comes my way

These are our similarities and our differences
One of these days as you blossom
into what you will become,
you will realize that what I say is true
for you are ripe with life as mine spoils away.

HEY DUDE , that is an exelent poem , a lot of deep feeling, well expressed! I didn't see the self pity in the 3rd stanza, I only saw a comparative flair, accentuated thru-out the entire work! keep tickling that keyboard

This is I must say, a very poigient piece of work. I love the way yu emotions really come through. It's simple and honnest, but it's also very well articulate and it runs well on the toung when you read it out loud. yoou shouldbe proud of this. very well done.
