Darkness

by Empty One   Apr 24, 2008

The night grows darker
and so does my lingering heart.
As I sit beneath, the flickering street light.
The storm grows closer, I can hear,
It grows ever more powerfully,
The thunder roars and strikes fear,
Through the endless night.

Drip, drip, as the rain begins to poor,
Upon my weakened, almost lifeless body,
I searched for shelter but none can see,
The Darkness has reached its full power.
I sit under that same old street light,
But when I need it most, it dies out,
And so does my last hope.

I lay motionless for quite a while,
Theres something in the darkness,
Almost to faint to see,
It grew less, and less faint, as I grew near
Then he appeared, and picked me up,
"I heard your cry through the dark,
I came to save the one that lies in the darkness."

As hope filled my body,
The darkness took me back,
And, awoke to the same endless night.

This was a good poem and I can see that you have talent, but one thing kept bugging me and I noticed it in a couple of your poems, you spell the word dose wrong,it's does, not dose...dose is like an amount or like your falling asleep."I began to dose off"etc., just thought I would let you know.
