I pray to the stars.

by Jaded Serenity   Apr 25, 2008

When i was a child i used to sit in the darkness of night
and stare at the stars gleaming through the trees.
I would pray to them think there were a little angel encased in each star, sending people hope when they needed it.
I would pray for the freedom from the hate my life evolved around.
I asked how i could be free from the hate that ate me alive.
The only answer my star gave me was time.
They told me that time heals you thorugh the ever constant change we all face.
Just wait they said, time punishes the people that desearve it and gives life to the people that have earned it.
Even though i am older now, i still look up to the stars seeking the answer to a meaningful life.
They told me to be careful with the choices i take.
They glistened to me not to live in the memories of the past.
To never hate because the only person that hate controls is me.
Whether it's the stars giving me these answers, or that mysterious dark place in my mind, i hope i make it, i hope i'm not another statistic.
