Alone

by Juice   Apr 26, 2008

Sunrays piercing through tinted windowpanes
feelings exit like mass exodus
Blank faces marching on the streets
with hidden cries of help held within
and screams for freedom denied

Disappear and return again
great pretense and coloured masks
tactfulness and lies
shades of grey they co-exist
as weapons to attack and protect

Blurred boundaries of where we belong
where strangers freely roam
sense of rootedness we seek for long
ungranted, we weep in our songs
trespasses we all are, with no place called home

Emotionally impoverished
Psychologically unkempt
Light up the candles in our heart
Shine the beam of hope onto us
And show us the way out
