Striving For You

You'll never know the life I've lived,
or how many tears I've cried,
But you'll see how much I've strived,
just to have to you by my side.

For the life that I've lived,
there are a million mistakes,
but even more fakes,
just to name a few.

For each tear that I've cried,
there was at least one for you,
maybe even thirty-two,
and that is nothing.

But striving for you,
causes the most pain,
it makes me go insane,
knowing that someday you'll be leaving my side.
