Slave to Self-Harm

by I Seem to be the Heartless   Apr 28, 2008

I bow before thee,
Oh Blade, so sharp and glistening.
I go down on my knees
Humbled in the awe of your presence.
Your power -
Unsurpassed -
Has ordered me to stand before thee,
My life a gift to thee.
My soul a sacrifice for thee.
Now, down on my knees,
My head bowed in praise,
I watch, as from my wrists
The blood flows;
Scarlet streams
Of promises made.
I feel honoured
To have had the pleasure
Of your gentle touch;
Honoured to have had my life taken
By one as amazing as you.
I am your slave,
And, as I lay here bleeding -
A proclamation of your greatness -
I bow my head a final time,
And slip into the darkness
That I now call my home...
