Countless tears fade along a path unclear...

by Ash   May 1, 2008

Countless tears fade along a path unclear,
faces portray visions now past,
empty feelings that continue to last.

Endlessly these joys sink low,
the path be trodden to stop the flow.
Life turned to change each way,
and in desperation you'd silently pray.

Questions undoubtedly held in esteem,
but the truth broke a soul and every single dream.
If this was the way that God spoke as such,
do you honestly believe He'd put us through such a task?

Your actions play like mind games,
if only involvement had not mentioned names,
but drift away - you say we must.
Yet lingering behind - each memory like dust.

Stuck to the core, heart and whole,
it's not something to forget - it's a heart you stole.
Beckoning be the light that shines now bright,
an end to the way that remains out of sight?

Unsurpassed edges of times greatest toll,
who would have gathered things may begin to mould?
Though initially the image seems unbounded,
time may change and leave all astounded.

It wasn't the games that were played,
but the things once said that made everything fade.
Though with trust something was once built,
you turned around and shot me to the ground.

The scars are there - they can never heal,
the story of pain that I'll continually feel.
Watching and waiting,
yet it's only silence portraying,
the true image of the person I cherished with my entire life.

If life continually changes in an instant, so fast,
what hope do I have that I will last?
It was once a cut that brought me so close to death,
the feelings are there that mutually brought my life to an almost end.

And yet these tears,
they speak of what cannot once hold,
what once faded that brought the cold,
the whole world turned to a sham,
and in a resultant wave of madness - I took the final stand.

I listened, and waited, advised and cared,
I was always there - a friend upon whom you could depend.
Every effort though now seemed to have been in vain,
and in an instant I knew it was a whip from a cane.

Dreams began to fade at last,
forgetting the world - that's a painful start.
Could you once listen to the words I have to say,
maybe you thought I was some toy with which you could play.

But thinking back now - I only wish for the memories to fade,
for your name never to be uttered upon my lips,
or your words remembered in an instant of bliss.
Words not to whisper of that which would have happened had you stayed.

It's a way of life no longer understood,
but thought provoked that placed one in a desperate mood.
The atmosphere though grasped each feeling so deep,
the joys faded - no longer to keep.

Tormented be a soul so stretched far apart,
in which insane event shall the guilty now plead?
It's just each of us fulfilling our need,
just another person now scrapped from this chart,
it's an end to everything that once gave meaning in the dark.

    Wow.........
    Very, very well done.
So emotional. Powerful. Beautiful. In a way, tender?
Perhaps you as a writer, with pilot eyes: eyes that miss nothing.
Yet like most... the saddest eyes you ever saw.
I loved this. Brilliant and even more brilliant. It's a gift... to bring a poet into the world.
To express the joys and pains of existence... though so very far apart from one's own.
    It's all very well.
