Final story...

by Ash   May 1, 2008

If things were meant to be this way,
why now when things just began to fade away?
If this is how it was all meant to end,
than in which race of so-called spiritualists shall one debate?

Mistakes so easily formed with care,
speaking of that which none would dare.
Fading away yet cherished by none,
life found a way to point the gun.

Through heartache and sorrow,
tears welled up in eyes unseen,
what lies ahead - be there a tomorrow?
Only ever there to fulfill one's selfish dream.

If it was freedom that you wanted,
my happiness was never there,
though the tears speak of a different story,
maybe it was true - no one really cared.

Had I known from the start,
that as easily as all is forged,
so too easily be it broken apart,
thrown away - overshadowed as a thing of the past.

Had my feelings once been considered,
the truth would have been realized,
and yet it's all to late to make amends,
for the damage has breached the gates of morality.

Foolish are those to seek friendships with those unknown,
there masks but parade in each face yet their dark desires are always known.
Look further than the truth of speech,
look beyond reason and doubt will reach.

None can predict the happiness of the other,
forgetting those that are forged within a heart,
be it a possible feat to accomplish?

I cannot tell of the way of this heart,
though it broods and repents,
it realizes that the world is not wherein sanity shall defend.
Each word, action, thought but pierces like a dart,
deeper and deeper till the agony be climaxed.

Which truth would be known?
Which story to tell?
That of heartbreak and pain,
mistrust and deceit?

There are many stories to be told,
maybe it's time to end this story once and for all....

Powerful indeed. your choice of wording is wonderful. i read this, and instantly thought about the powers of the world. presidents, prime ministers, kings and queens, and religious persons. society wants us to believe we shall follow them without doubt or fear.....perhaps it is us, that are the masked ones.
    wonderful piece

    Through heartache and sorrow,
tears welled up in eyes unseen,

Where one story ends the other begins, when one night passes.. comes a new dawn n with a new dawn a new flower n with a new flower a new smile beneath a new blue skies cloud, where new leaves n birds sing of joy..... n along comes a new hope....

    Good poem..

    Keep writing,

    best wishes,
