Heart Vs Mind

Just me myself and my tears
rolling down my face,
The emptiness swallowing me whole
darkness left taking my place,

My mind reminisces through time
a place my heart rather not go,
But the memories always win
as the pain within me grows,

When something hurts so much
not enough words can explain,
Sometimes the feelings left inside
are as quiet as droplets of rain,

I keep his memories deep inside me
even though he left them far behind,
Even though I've opened my eyes
my heart will always be blind,

What my mind knows to be true
my heart will never believe,
While my mind trys to move on
my heart refuses to leave,

My mind remembers the negative
my heart makes excuses for his mistakes,
My mind trys to recover from
the heart that continuously breaks,

They say mind over matter
is all your life really needs,
to bad my mind has gotten lost
to the heart that slowly bleeds.

    They say mind over matter

    to bad my mind has gotten lost
    to the heart that slowly bleeds.

    a great ender to an amazing poem. at first i thought that it felt like two different poems put together, the first section and the 2 stanza's about the heart verses the mind. the last one did tie it together nicely, though i think the transition could flow a little better together. but in the end an enjoyable poem to read with much thought put into it. sometimes our heart and our mind want two different things. you translated that well into the poem, great job ------tara
