In The Rain

by Courtney   May 2, 2008

I never miss the rain
Until I think of that time with you
It was a lightning storm
Yet you wanted to play as if you never knew

You were walking ahead
Until I called your name
In white, you stood still
Standing in the rain

Our laughter surrounded us
As we screamind in delight
You kicked the puddles
While rain drops blurred my sight

Engulfed by the roar
And rumbling of the skies
We enjoyed our time
Not realizing the soon "goodbyes"

As the rain falls
I look at the sky with disdain
Frowning at its pale complexion
As the clouds squeeze out more rain

Water splatters onto my face
And for a moment, I do not complain
Because briefly past and present collide
Leaving you and I just splashing in the rain
