Squirrels and Sunsets

Defy me!

lie to me!

throw me under a car
just to see how red my blood is...

Have you ever sat on a cool day
and watched the squirrels
run about and down the trees
it seemed to me they never knew
exactly where they were going
or what they would do when they got there

It kind of sounds like you and me.

You know, it's ironic
that you would think you're better than me
when all you do to get there
is put me down...

the perfect articulation
of how self centered you are.

everything is you.

Have you ever watched the sunset?
the simplicity of its beauty
how slowly it moves
but is certain of where it will be
and knows it will always have a place

How I wish, that that sounded like us

    Very well written. It's more like a poetic rant ... an interesting and thoughtful piece.
    And this line;
    "throw me under a car
    just to see how red my blood is..."
    made me laugh.
    Morbid, but true.

    Very good.It is really a thought provoking poem.The man has become so self centred and selfish that he has no time to think of others.The examples which you given show your sensivities to different objects of nature.I like it.5|5
