A year too Late

by Shanderia   May 3, 2008

I dreamed about that moment
I yearned to see that day
I hungered for that special moment
To unite with my soul mate

I pictured every moment
from the second i graced the ground
knew exactly how it would be
lost soul time would be found

I would stand out with my luggage
anticipation on my mind
my heart would beat with excitement
with each beat, love you more each time

A red truck would past in front of me
with the sweetest face I've seen
my ears would hear the sweetest voice calling out my name

My heart would melt from the heat, the fire within my soul
my mission would then be completed
two half hearts would be made whole
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So the second my feet graced the ground
pain pierced my heart
the second i collected my luggage
my entire composure fell apart
I stood there for an hour
the red truck never came
hurt knocked and knocked on my heart's door
couldn't help it..... i let it in
I stood there as tears flowed, like a prosperous river stream
I stood there, heart frozen
The ice represented pain
I went in my purse to take out a tissue to wipe my weeping eyes
My ticket dropped on the ground
as i proceeded to pick it up i got a shocking surprise
the date read.. the ninth day of the fourth month, 2007
WAIT...........................ITS 2008
It was then i realized the cause of my pain
......................i was a year too late
