I stayed up all night
to wish you happy birthday
i decorated the roof
in my own special way

i wrote on it i love you
and climbed back down the tree
i showed you with a torch at night

the band played it at the summer fair
by the time i found you it was over
you missed it, did you care?

you know those glow in the dark stars?
i printed them all over the wall

i made some in to heart shapes
so that you could watch them that night in bed
but then you got that important call
and left before it was dark instead

i asked you where you were going
but all you said was 'out'
i couldn't take the lying
thats when i began to scream and shout

did you ever really mean it
that this time you would focus
me and you would work things out?
