The reality of fairytale stories

by If only i could   May 7, 2008

Fairytale books of heroes great and small,
the dark and evil villains whose plights begin to fall.
The small and lonely girl who watches the story pass,
a peasant of inner-town taught to stay her class.
This girl has her own treacherous tale,
with tragedy and love of the ungrateful male.
The depression and sadness of unshed tears,
the life growing up with so many fears.
A small town girl taught to dream big,
content with a small house and garden full of fig.
Classical drama, romantic novels,
dreams of enemies bowing to grovel.
This girl may be little but she has a future ahead,
without a castle or bullet of lead.
she wants so be a doctor saving peoples lives,
not stuck in the kitchen as another of Mr Williams wives.
She has her own name she intends to prove,
she plays to win now making her move.
But this is the beginning of the game of life,
she still has years of tears and strife.
The girl watched the story unfold,
now she awaits hers to be told.
This girl is quite young at only seven,
but hopes to change the world by age eleven.
This girl is normal, well and true,
and your story, like hers, is a part of you.

Nice write. Both a bit sad and opptomistic at same time. Loved it!
