BETWEEN HER SHEETS

by SuicidalHaze   May 7, 2008

She woke up breathless
Clothes drenched in sweat
Her pillow smeared with tears
And her bed completely wet

Her eyes are sleepless
Her body... restless
He is back and now she's forced to stay awake

She searches for the light switch
Trying to fill the dark room with light
She looks across to the corner
And something very frightening caught her sight

She began to panick
Please ..... no... i thought i was awake
No your'e still dreaming.. he whispered
And from this nightmare you cannot escape

She folded herself into a ball and moved to the edge of the bed trying not to fall
He crept closer ....... his shadow now tall against the wall
Wary she screamed for her mother to come....

But no one was there.....
No one a all
He clasped his hand over her mouth
She couldn't make a sound...
Even though she tried to shout
She could smell him
She could feel his sweat drip down her neck........
Her eyes closed slowly
As she gave up the fight
And as she succumbed to his power
One last tear rolled down her cheek

And the truth about that night...... remains between her sheets
