A poem for my girls

by demitra   May 8, 2008

I've got a friend who is a funny, blond bombshell,
She makes me laugh all day,
And she raises all hell,
Out of all of my friends, she's the one I like to bug,
But she knows I'm always kidding,
When I give her a warm hug,
We've been through so much already,
We've practically done it all,
That includes crying together,
In a Whitehorse bathroom stall.

I've got a friend who is always cracking jokes,
From the one's about enemies,
To the one's about blokes,
She worships a band,
Half of whom are dead,
But she always has one of their songs,
Playing continuously in her head,
She's got such great talent,
Her musical lyrics are so hardy,
To me she's far more talented,
Than Lennon or McCartney.

I've got a friend whom I have just met,
And out of all my new friends at Adss.
She's by far the best one yet,
We swear at each other,
But we never take it to heart,
Because it's only during the time
We play "Mario Cart",
We really bonded as we rode our dog sled,
Through the Whitehorse snow,
This friend means so much to me,
I don't ever want her to go.

I've got a friend who is wiser than some,
She's always there to tell me,
When the best is yet to come,
We talk and laugh in the halls all day,
And everything makes us smile,
I know deep down in my heart,
This friend has to stay for a while,
We've got so many memories,
Some are simply a blur,
My gosh, I can't believe how lucky I am,
To have a friend like her.

I've got a friend I hold most dear,
I've known her since elementary school,
We met the first year,
She makes me smile, she makes me laugh,
She's there for me when I'm sad,
She never judges or curses, she always supports,
And that is what makes me glad,
I know for a fact that our journey as friends,
Will never come to an end,
Because even if we lived miles apart,
She will always remain my friend.

I've got five great friends,
The best they come,
I love them all equally,
For I cannot choose one,
Who said that a best friend has to be one?
Why can there not be five?
That is much more fun,
So in my humble word,
I have one final thing to say,
If it weren't for these people,
These amazing people,
I would not be who I am,
Today.
