Mad

This was the ending to a short story that I read in Grade 8...I had to write an alternate ending about a major heat wave and the way it affected people...This Poem is told from the Point Of View of a man going crazy

The man twirlled the screw driver in his fingers and lightly placed it up to his temple. His eyes grew wide with insanity as he stared down at his feeble wife. Sweat poured down his brow, and as he approached her, he spoke:
"I will tell you a story, my dear wife, about a lonely man against his wretched life. He didn't know why this happened now, and then, all he knew is it was him, not them. As the heat grew thicker and covered the sky, it was now or never, someone had to die. So this man could not do anything, not weep, no cry. 'Cause everyone now knows, that man is I. To finish of this little speech of many tales and rhymes, YOU will float through the gates, as I quote Norman Bates*, 'We all go a little mad sometimes."

*Norman Bates is the main character in the horror film "Psycho".
