As You Sleep

by Spoken Silence   May 11, 2008

As you sleep, I lay awake waiting.
Listening to your every breath,
Your every sound.
I wonder what you dream of.
Wondering if its me that you see.
I watch you laying next to me, and I hope it isn't a dream.
Because this one moment is magical, its something from within.

I wait for your eyes to open,
So I can see the color,
A beautiful shade of hazel, that I could never forget.
You wrap your arms around me, as you smell my hair.
You tell me that you love me.
And say that you care.

I smile and think that I'm happy,
To finally sleep next to the person that I love.
My emotions for you are strong
And I just want you to know,
That laying with you is amazing,
And I would never want to let go.

So as you lay asleep tonight,
Know that I'm here watching,
Wanting to protect you,
From this world thats so hard to bare.
Because on this night and on this bed,
We sleep together
And we sleep the world away.
