Hidden By The Mask of Cheerful Perfections

by DarknessInMySoul   May 12, 2008

A loneliness resides in my soul,
Leaving me detached,
Wanting more than is offered,
For nothing is offered.

People want themselves in my presence,
For the cheerful disposition,
But they desire a mask,
Carefully constructed for the perfections.

They all have their own masks,
That hide the deepest truths,
And show what they want people to see,
Which is purely happiness.

They cry for attention,
Blabbing out lies,
And I pull out the lies,
One by one.

They walk away,
I'm left standing,
All alone,
In my loneliness.
