EMOTIONAL KALEIDOSCOPE OF A SOLITARY MAN

by Jim McMillen the man within   May 12, 2008

DECEMBER 17TH 2006 HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME?

I wrote this poem with the intention of developing a new
(TO ME) style of poetry . A compilation of all my other poems in one ! In the form of reflective poetry, it is part two of TAPESTRY OF MY LIFE ! After seeing the finished product and having always felt that all of my poems are entwined , I went back and searched each one for poem titles within the lines of verse . I knew there were going to be a few , but I never suspected this many ! Sorry for the redundancy , but I believe in this collection , relativity is necessary to promote its healing ability / I have also tried another new concept, where one poem asks the questions and
the next poem answers them : Respectively they are titled / GIVE IT ALL YOU'VE GOT / LIVING BETWEEN THE LINES thank you JIM

(ANOTHER DAY) has arrived,
The depth of its anguish, more constricting than the last
The existence of time , its essence derived ,
Loneliness compounded, surrounded , emptiness so vast!

(TIME) is its fuel, an endless supply!
Unaccompanied now since November 88,
But for a brief moment in your arms, in 89 the 7th of July,
Happy 10th my love, choosing not to replace you sealed my fate!

Eventually I spent three days with a voluntary lover!
I enjoyed her by day , she enjoyed me by night!
She knew from the start , that I was (RESERVED FOR ANOTHER) ,
It was a journey much needed, though it held no (DESIRE) for right!

Catapulted, into this existence!
But for opportunity, it would be, only a plight!
Beauty of love and pain of loss, lends strength to persistence!
Giving (GRATITUDE) to my awareness of (THE BENEFIT OF LIGHT)

Of life, you can be sure, it's a two sided coin,
Of this I am (THANKFUL) to not only comprehend but to understand!
MY craving much deeper than the heat of your lion,
Without a place in your heart, I have (NO PLACE TO LAND)

Through my (CHANGES, LIKE THE SEASONS)
MY love continues to grow, choosing never to subside!
Cause, and effect, the perpetual reasons,
That my love for you , (NO ROOM TO HIDE)!

This recipe I learned from (SOMEONE I ONCE KNEW)
To eventually become, (ONE AND THE SAME)
So that the (LIGHT FROM THE TOWER) may always shine anew !
Making (THE BRIGHTEST DIAMOND) like an eternal flame !

This recipe I learned from (SOMEONE I ONCE KNEW!

End the parenthesis and if you're going to end when punctuation on these parenthesized ending sentences do so to the rest as well.

The last stanza the spacing is off a bit again.

Other than that I really enjoyed this poem. :) It was very unique. Five out of five.
