DESIRE--THE NATURE OF THE BEAST

by Jim McMillen the man within   May 13, 2008

APRIL 20TH 2001 #75

I have been there so many times you see,
Though in a different (TIME) and space!
But for the contents of my soul set free,
Am I able to stand and face!

All I see so bold, before my eyes,
If they should close, I still would feel!
For my spirit does despise,
All that chooses to conceal!

The nature of the beast, as I now understand,
For DESIRE was once its name!
I was blindly walking , hand in hand!
With this beast, CONSUMPTION, that once was tame!

Until it turned to feast within,
No longer able to supply
My very existence, to feed its sin,
For one of us , will surely die!

It is a demon and it will:

"Until it turned to feast within,
    No longer able to supply
My very existence, to feed its sin,
For one of us , will surely die!"

This is an excellent example of an addiction of any kind. It will control our lives until we are forced to choose between living or dying, in order to defeat the monster of addiction. Thank God we both chose to live.
