Buddy

by Iola   May 16, 2008

So you know
Though you wish that those moments of truth never existed
Let me take the blow
For your cruel plans on which you so desperately insisted

So you deny
That you had it all planned and taken care off
And now rather try
To convince him of what he should be scared off

So you smile
Politely thanking me for getting erased from you mess
In your x-file
I lie silent as the buddy that failed your moral test

So you awake
Sweaty and shaken at what haunts your broken dreams
Afraid life will take
What you thought you owned but is not what it seems

So you hate
You deny yourself a good look in the mirror of truth
For heaven's sake
Your great advice and friendship no longer sooth

So you hope
For that day when once again you can look at me
Your very own rope
Hanged you all but ironically set me free to be

Thank you
