Across the Rubicon

by .K.i.T.t.Y.   May 17, 2008

Wet fingers reach out
And reel me back,
Drowning me
Effortlessly in its depth.

My arms grasp
For solid land
To embrace me,
To rescue me.

I thrash
In the river's
Silent rapids,
Knowing I can't win.

But even if I can't,
It doesn't mean
I will stay below
And let Her take control.

Your love
Has shown me,
My potential,
My capabilities.

Finally,
I can see
Beauty within
Someone like me.

For that,
I'll one day
Be back
In your arms.

Nothing will
Keep me
From doing so,
So wait.

Even if my body
Remains in the river,
My heart has crossed
The Rubicon...

Has yours?
