Sunset on the freeway,
Driving home to sleep away the day.
Shes on the couch saying Babe, I need a break.
And he throws down the keys, hes had more than he can take.
Kicks off his shoes and heads for the bed,
Replaying the things that she said.
So he turns back around, gets down on one knee
And says Baby, runaway with me.
She jumps and she screams, her eyes go wide
Simply imagining their midnight train ride.
They get off in New York, the city of lights
Walking slowly to take in all the sights.
And they run for miles, hand in hand.
Finally free on this new land
Gasping for breath, short of air,
Yet living their lives without a care
Times are good, life is great
Cant wait to go out and celebrate.
Head to the bar and get a few drinks
Guy gets too drunk,
The girl spends her night by the bathroom sinks
Comes out and finds him with another girl.
She gets so angry, her hair starts to curl
Finds herself feeling used and alone
Nothing left to do but pack up and go home.
