Second Chance

by April   May 17, 2008

I hold my head high
To show that i am okay
But deep down im not

The sky has turned gray
The rain pours
Lightening strikes
The wind blows fiercely

I reach the home where it all began
I walk inside to the room i call my own
I lock the door
Turn up the radio

I sit on the floor
Holding pictures
I lay them before me
Me and you no more

I take the blade
I cut along the line on my wrist
I do the same to the other
I lay back closing my eyes

I am gone
I haunt your dreams at night
I can still see you
You are happy without me

I follow you as you walk into the woods
I know you feel my presence
Your happiness fades into fear an sadness
You stop near a rock

You kneel beside it
Taking out a blade from under it
I watch as you lift it to your wrist
I grab your shoulder

You jump moving away from my ghostly self
I tell you not to fear me
You stand scared still holding the blade
I reach for the blade

Your drop it as you fall to your knees
I pick it up as you watch me
I say "do not make the mistake i made"
You apologize about everything saying your really do love me

I tell you i must go
You beg me to stay
I will be here for you
Like i've always been

I am gone
They gave me my life back
They seen you

I came back
I need to be careful
Do not hurt me again
Or next time i shall perish and be gone forever.
