A POETS HUMBLE PRAYER

MARCH 22 1990 / POEM #42

Dear GOD , I would like to thank you,
Each and every day.
For making me humble myself to you,
In your own loving way.

The blessings have been far beyond
What I alone could ever achieve.
It seems the goals you have in store for me
Are greater than I can conceive.

I thank you and I praise you,
For the many things you guide me to write.
For they have much greater meaning ,
Now that I walk in your light!

Please continue to give me Knowledge and wisdom,
So I may continue to grow.
And as for the light you shine so bright,
May I always let it show!

For I do believe in your power and love,
And of your mercy, may I always be deservant.
I thank you for building my faith OH LORD,
It is a pleasure to be your servant!

    This was just a delightful write. Even in all my trials I praise him everyday for I know only He can make me stronger to forge onward each day

    Wow, just wow.. I think this whole piece is amazing. And we don't thanks the Lord enough for things he gives us, allows us to do. Nor the talents that we have. Instead of putting them on the shelf just to sit there and get dusty, we should be using them to lift him up. I especially loved these two stanzas,

    "I thank you and I praise you,
