THESE WORDS I NOW PRAY

MARCH 27TH 1990 / POEM #43

Dear HEAVENLY FATHER,
As I start each new day.
Let me begin with,
These words I now pray.

First of all,
If I may ask.
Speak loud and clear,
When giving my task.

Just as you shine,
Your light for me.
As I travel through darkness,
Unable to see

Although I am not deaf,
Nor am I blind
Please do this for me ,
So as I seek, I may also find!

And give me each day,
A smile upon my face.
As a subtle reminder,
Of your sweet, loving grace.

For I know my time upon earth,
Was not given, for me to stand still.
But to read from your word,
And to do your will.

And when things go wrong,
Please remind me.
That they were so much worse,
Before I met thee!

And If too much I sometimes ask,
May I only receive, of what I'm deservant.
Along with another task,
So I may remain , your loyal servant
