In Too Deep

by Hidden1   May 23, 2008

Don't submerge all the way under.
Waist deep is too deep.
Get in and let the water barely cover your feet.
Only then will you know how much
Chill you can take.

The sign said, "CAUTION ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK."
No lifeguard on duty,
No life preservers around.
There will be no one to save you,
When you lose your heart and drown.

CAUTION!!!! CAUTION!!!!
You're swimming too fast...
The faster you swim, the deeper you'll go.
Don't go looking for a life boat to keep you afloat.

Now you're tired.
You've swam in the deep alone.
All that's left to do is tread water,
While you slowly make it to shore.
Your heart, your home
