Leave

by A Fallen Dancer   May 26, 2008

Once I loved you, but I was broken.
I was shattered,
And the pieces of me were alone,
Strewn in the dirt.
Glass, sparkling and shimmering,
My vision halts.
You should leave.
Everlasting pain takes me apart,
And throws away what is left.
I am nothing but a shell,
Hollow and cracked,
Torn apart, who knows,
If the beauty that once was,
Still prevails.
You should leave.
It’s destruction sweeping over my life,
Leaving me alone to fall,
With nothing to catch me.
My mind is empty,
Only air sweeps through.
You should leave.
I still love you,
But I hurt.
I want only to be free, to escape this misery.
You hurt me without violence,
All I want is for you to leave.
