A Puppet

I am a puppet that hides behind a mask
I can't complete any task
My master always hated me
But he is he the one that created me

Here comes opening night
But my heart keeps going so tight
I should be ready
But I can't keep my strings steady
And I am just holding onto my teddy

This play is going to be all the same
A beautiful young girl came through the door
But yet she was so poor
Her name was Rose
She never stood in a pose

She always told me
To always be full of glee
My friend you will make mistakes
But here let me tell you just take
Them as they go

Let them blow
Right over your shoulder
You will get older
You will find your life
Just please don't ever take the knife

You will cry
I won't lie
But life might crash and burn
But remember it'll just be another turn
