Seeing the light is not the same as following it

I'd choose to let go
if I wasn't forced to stay
I'd plan for tomorrow
but I'm stuck in today

They give their advice
think their wisdom will show
me the light at the end
don't they think that I know

What would be the right path
the expected decision
that I can do the math
that I see the same vision

but the best and the right thing to do
are known to all, yet few follow through
that my choice is not mind, but also my soul
that my heart rules my being, and wherever it may go

I will follow it always, time through and through
even when I know the right thing to do
