Tailored Heart

by David ODonnell   May 31, 2008

Be it not that I chose this path
Or followed blind along love's wrath
I came out crying and broken mind
From the girl I loved and left behind

I left her once and ran straight back
A mistake I made when I left the track
I couldnt help or help her see
That I'm her man to a certain degree

I gave it all from blood to sweat
I tried so hard, so hard to forget
That shes the one, the one for me
The one special love that is destined to be

But now shes happy and I am not
And shes moved on and probably forgot
This special man inside of me
Who cries for her and to be free

Very true and amzing poem... i liked the comment said above "effortlessly relatable".. your poem flowed beautifully and every word was as clique as i lost you and i loved you but had true meaning behind it, you could see the futrationa dn the wanting to let her go but still love her... your poem inspired me and others as well and gave us a heartache that we can all effortlessly relate to. i could try to think of something contructive to say to read build the poem but i think in the end of it all the only downside to this poem was that it wasn't longer...
