Conceited

by David ODonnell   Oct 6, 2009

She seeks her soul alone and sighs
In endless passion she folds and cries
What more is needed she dreams in pain
Her love conceited and will disdain

Hand of innocence forever holds tight
A love so strong that will always fight
That little spark is a beautiful girl
Your shining star, your precious pearl

A love that forever will never concede
And grow as a flower from a diminutive seed
Carrying that burden for it is your own
Will one day pay off and forever be shown

He holds his thoughts like iron bars
Far out of reach amongst the stars
But star shines amongst the rest
The thought of you becomes it's best

These iron gates now broken through
Paints a picture so clear and true
One small star burns bright for another
Flickering flames like a passionate lover

No more dreams of unfilled love
As it proceeds you from below and above
Got your hand if you got mine
Keep you smiling and feeling fine
