Kcis of Sickness

by The Apathetic Emo   Jun 2, 2008

Every breath of air

Infected

Every drop of water

Freezing

Every bite of food

Pungent

Every pulse of blood

Screaming

Every quilt

Suffocating

Every noise

Deafening

Every step

Faltering

Every word

Threatening

Every hope

One of death

Every wish

One of quietus

Every dream

One of rest

Every prayer

One of solace

Every prayer

Infected

Every dream

Freezing

Every wish

Pungent

Every hope

Screaming

Every word

Suffocating

Every step

Deafening

Every noise

Faltering

Every quilt

Threatening

Every pulse of blood

One of death

Every bite of food

One of quietus

Every drop of water

One of rest

Every breath of air

One of solace

'Till at last

We return

I really like this poems. I think it might be my favorite out of yours. Well-written, and the way it's structured gives it this amazing flow. I like how you sort of switched it around and sort of went back for every other line. Kind of like a circle which is the image this poem created for me. And the last two lines, "'till at last/we return", sort of confirmed that for me and completed the circle. I especially like the the title, but could you explain it to me? At first glance, I thought it was the word sick scrambled up. Then I saw it as the word kisses spelled completely different. I think of the latter more, but you can tell me whether or not I'm close.
