Starfruit

by Mary   Jun 2, 2008

I am such
A miraculous fruit
With five perfect edges
Making a beautiful shape
A vibrant golden shade,
Soft to the touch
I have a mouth watering smell,
You already imagine my juices
But on the inside
I’m hard and sharp
Almost rotten to the taste
And in neutral color
I have no family,
Only roots on the pacific islands
I am something so vibrant and beautiful
But on the inside
So rotten and colorless
