Venus

by Mary   Jun 2, 2008

I

A beautiful spring day outside
She dances gracefully,
Without a care in the world

II

Oblivious to
Everything,
Nothing matters anymore.

III

she dances with the leaves of the spring.
Not wanting anything but to be free.

IV

The leaves and all the trees
Are one.
The leaves, the trees, the grass and the breezes
Are one.

V

I do not know which to prefer,
The beauty of the outdoors
Or the beauty of innuendoes,
The beast dancing her dance
Or all of it.

VI

A breeze stirs up the fallen leaves
Catching her soft eyes
She then dances with the leaves
Across the firm ground.
The sun
Sits high above her
Watching every move she chooses to make.

VII

I can’t imagine
Her doing any other thing
Then dancing so gracefully here.
Her feet hit so hard
As she falls from the air

VIII

I have memorized
Her soft graceful dance she makes
And I see too
When she gets new energy
In her high spirit.

IX

When she starts to get tired
She starts to slow down
Her dance starts to stop.

X

When I feel her warm breath
Against my cold body
As I feel her pounding body
I know she is done.

XI

She danced around everyone’s feet
Spun round and round
Swerving left and right
Looking so graceful in her dance
Back and fourth

XII

She has danced her dances.
The dances of every Dane.

XIII

I have been blessed in seeing this
Dance of the Danes
I will never forget
Her confidence
In the beast named Venus.
