Just do not get me

by Iola   Jun 3, 2008

You just don't get me
Try to understand my point of view
The meaning behind what I see
My motives for seeking all that's new

None of you can even comprehend me
The shoes I wear a different size
If you knew, you would have set me free
And stop believing in your own silly lies

Not even those closest seem to grasp me
They believe what they want to believe
Letting me be is the key
For me to stop running and never leave

I don't think you really get me
You will rather take what you need
Growing wilder than the branch of an oak tree
Anticipating where my freedom will lead

Do you even want to know me?
Maybe my insides is just too scary for you
A different person; a stranger cup of tea
Don't worry; I'm not getting you too!
