Alwyn, Our Angel

by I Seem to be the Heartless   Jun 4, 2008

Death is a tragic thing,
No matter how it occurs.
Losing a friend or family member -
I can't think of anything worse.

Never getting to say 'goodbye'
Or "How I love you so".
It hurts too much
To ever let them go.

It all happens so quickly -
You don't know the time or place.
And you will never forget the smile
On his sweet, loving face.

To accept death
Is always very hard.
Our life seems like an endless poem,
And God, the brilliant bard.

Although Alwyn left
Many caring, loving people behind,
We must always remember
He's sitting with God - side-by-side.

He will be truly missed
By everyone who knew him.
But he's now in a choir of angels
And together they all sing.

So, I urge you, God's children,
Remember my words,
For together we will rise
And fly, a block of birds.

Look after one another
But don't neglect yourself
And remember that being with God
Outweighs all Earthly wealth.

God's gift of eternal life
Is better than all gifts.
Smile and sing praise to Him
And our sadness he will lift...
