Culling of the Seals Pt 1

by Simply Josh   Jun 4, 2008

(from the activist's point of view)

Sealing is a $24m industry
Comprising of blood and more blood
With the government of Canada
Supporting the people playing God

They hunt with rifles
They hunt with hakapiks
Not caring of the pain
Each blow inflicts

The blood they spill is on their hands,
So who is there to challenge them?
I tell you now I'm here to stand

To lend a hand then reminisce
Of saving innocent seal's lives
From the predator's deadly kiss

Everyday they fight to survive
The forces our nature possess
Now they struggle to stay alive

But I just can't ever digest
This unnecessary blood fest

275,000 was their quota this year
And the government let nothing interfere
They said the population's not at threat
Even if the quota's met
So we shouldn't have anything to fear

But how can we stand back
And dismiss this attack
While many are ripped and torn
Just to be worn
And sold on a clothes shop rack

Each skin is sold to the fashion industry
And the say "it's an important part of the local economy"

But I say stop the slaughter
And save the seals
Put a bridge over this troubled water
So that these wounds can heal
