He'll be alright.

Steal some time to feel forgiven,
put it into self respect,
Justify your lack of conscience,
When you left him to neglect.
It's a burden you will live with,
if it makes you sleep at night,
Then you shouldn't feel too sorry,
When you know you fought the fight.
Life can tire even angels,
And even saints can make mistakes,
This doesn't make you any different,
From other choices humans makes.
But you know he's bound to wander,
down the road all by himself,
You never taught him independence,
But that's his own living Hell.
Don't you worry bout the future,
it's not as bad as people say,
So when you lay your head on your pillow tonight,
Tell youself he'll be okay.

Close your eyes and feel the sunshine,
Feel the freedom that you bought,
Pray that someone comes around and says
It's easier than thought.
Sometimes guilt is not your problem,
Unavoidable, but true,
He may have thought he needed safety,
You know he never needed you.

So you made the right decision,
Though you took him down the fall,
He will wake up and acknowledge,
Find the strength to stand up tall.
Steal some time to feel forgiven,
If it makes you feel less bad,
He will grow to know the reasons,
Why you left what good you had.
