Child of Darkness

by Helene   Feb 6, 2010

Child of winter,
Child of Darkness,
Where will you go when the Tide will rise?
Will you stand your ground,
Or embrace the weakness,
When being born was your demise.
Child of purity,
Child of madness,
And you never had anyone
To hold your hand in time of frenzy,
Your grave will never see the Sun.

It's okay to be afraid.

Run, until the past will catch you,
Run, until your legs give in,
But you should know, despite the shadows,
You were never born a sin.
It's the rage that follows the mistreated,
Once you realize you were wronged,
It echoes into every nightmare,
And you see you never quite belonged.

Child of Someone,
Young misfortune,
Was your fate to end up torn?
In your eyes I see the anger,
Hatred just for being born.

It's okay to be afraid.
