When The Clock Hits Twelve (Tanka)

by Ashleigh Skye   Jun 6, 2008

*based on peabody's question "Why was my playpen netting replaced with barbed wire? and is that fair?" http://www.poems-and-quotes.com/author.html?id=293379*

Barbed wire fences,
simply crashing to the ground,
for unknown reasons,
not possible to break through,
leaving me with my demons.

*Tanka-unrhymed lines of five, seven, five, seven, and seven syllables*
